If missing software is needed for your class and research, please let us know; please send a request a few weeks before the start of the semester to allow time for installation and testing.<\/div><details><summary><strong>Installed Software on CS Linux System<\/strong><\/summary><div id=\"content-top\" class=\"row-fluid content-top\"><div class=\"region region-content-top clearfix\"><div id=\"block-system-main\" class=\"clearfix block block-system\"><div class=\"content\"><article id=\"node-330\" class=\"node node-resource-page clearfix\"><div class=\"content\"><div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even\"><div><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">The supported software packages across all these clusters include various languages, including Java, Python, PERL, Prolog, Lisp, Scheme, Eiffel, C, C++, and Fortran, as well as specialized tools for specific research areas, e.g., Mathematica, Matlab, R (statistics), Eclipse (software development), as well as document preparation tools such as TeX, LATex, OpenOffice, MS-Office, and Acrobat.<\/p><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><ul><li>For a complete detailed list of <strong>installed software<\/strong> on our Linux Machines, run the following command in a command line shell,<br \/><em>CentOS Systems<\/em>: <code>yum list installed<\/code><br \/><em>Ubuntu Systems<\/em>: <samp><code>apt list --installed<\/code><\/samp><\/li><li>To use Python in the CS department, follow the instructions on <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.cs.rutgers.edu\/resources\/using-python-on-cs-linux-machines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">using Python on the CS Linux machine.<\/a> Run the following command in a specifically activated Python environment for a list of installed Python modules on our Linux Machines.<br \/><strong>Python:<\/strong><code>pip list<\/code><\/li><li>For a complete detailed list of installed Perl modules on our Linux machines, run the following command in a command line shell<br \/><strong>List version of Perl installed: <\/strong><code>corelist -v<\/code><br \/><strong>List of modules for version v5.17.5:<\/strong><code> corelist -v v5.17.5<\/code><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/details><details><summary><strong>Site Licensed Software available<\/strong><\/summary><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.office.com\/?home=1&amp;auth=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Office Suite for every Faculty and Staff<\/a><br \/>Every faculty member\/staff member is eligible for a free license to use Microsoft Office, which can be installed on any personal computer. You can obtain this software by logging into<a href=\"http:\/\/connect.rutgers.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Connect.rutgers.edu<\/a>, clicking the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.office.com\/?auth=2&amp;home=1&amp;from=ShellLogo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[Office 365]<\/a><\/strong> logo, and then clicking the <strong>[install Office]<\/strong> link at the window&#8217;s top right corner.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/software.rutgers.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rutgers Site Licensed Software<\/a><br \/>A Collection of Rutgers Site Licensed software. Some are free, and some require payment. This contains major packages from vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, etc. It includes all software for which Rutgers either has a site license or has negotiated special pricing. Please check this site first before purchasing your software license.<\/li><li>Rutgers Faculty, TA, GA, PTL, and Staff with Rutgers Connect accounts are eligible for 1TB of cloud storage on OneDrive and a free license of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.office.com\/1\/?auth=2&amp;home=1&amp;from=ShellLogo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Office<\/a> that can be installed on their office or personal computer as part of Rutgers Connect email account.<\/li><\/ul><\/details><details><summary><strong>Local Software Repositories<\/strong><\/summary><ul><li><a href=\"http:\/\/rpm.rutgers.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linux mirror<\/a> (RU Only)<br \/>Local Mirror of Linux at Rutgers University maintained by Rutgers Open System Support<\/li><\/ul><\/details><p class=\"p1\">For help with our systems or immediate assistance, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.rutgers.edu\/~operator\/\"><span class=\"s1\">LCSR Operator<\/span><\/a> at CoRE 235 or call 848-445-2443.
